Google has added the Nexus 4 mobile phone and a large Nexus 10 tablet to its range of products.

Both offer NFC and a very high level of quality and apps. We recommend them along with the Nexus 7 tablet.

Generally, we use Google Nexus equipment since it is allows the greatest flexibility with personalisation and the devices work well with NFC tags and Android Apps.

Not all the devices in this list are Android devices so some do use different software to write and read NFC tags. We can work with alternative systems but prefer Android at this time.

Acer E320 Liquid Express
The Acer E320 Liquid Express is an entry-level Android smartphone and is the Taiwanese manufacturer's first NFC handset.

BlackBerry Bold 9790
The BlackBerry Bold 9790, codenamed 'Bellagio', was announced in November 2011 and is now shipping.

BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930, the first handsets from Research in Motion to include NFC, were announced in early May 2011 and are now shipping.

BlackBerry Curve 9350/9360/9370
The BlackBerry Curve 9350, BlackBerry Curve 9360 and BlackBerry Curve 9370 were announced in August 2011 and are now shipping.

BlackBerry Curve 9380
The BlackBerry Curve 9380, also known as 'Orlando', was announced in November 2011 and is now shipping.

C-mii 1
The C-mii 1 from UK-based company C-mii is part of the C-mii NFC handset range aimed at the services sector. The entry level candybar-style handset features a low-weight and robust design and NFC functionality. 

C-mii 3
The C-mii 3 from UK-based company C-mii is part of the C-mii NFC handset range aimed at the services sector. The lightweight and robust handset offers a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 2MP camera and NFC. 

Casio DT-X8
The Casio DT-X8 is a business-class rugged handheld terminal that can handle NFC, 2D barcodes and more.

Casio IT-800
The Casio IT-800, launched in late 2009, is another ruggedised handheld PDA built for business use that incorporates NFC.

Fujitsu Arrows µ F-07D
The Fujitsu Arrows µ F-07D is a 6.7mm-thin Android 2.3 NFC handset featuring a 4-inch oled display and a 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor.

Google Galaxy Nexus
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the latest Google reference handset and is now shipping in the UK and the US. The phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Google Nexus 7
The Google Nexus 7 is a powerful 7-inch NFC-enabled tablet running a new version of Android, "Jelly Bean", and which retails from US$199.

Google Nexus S
The Google Nexus S, a full-featured smartphone running Android 2.3 'Gingerbread' and manufactured by Samsung, has NFC support built in.

HTC Desire C
Officially announced in May 2012, the HTC Desire C features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 5MP camera, NFC functionality and runs Android 4.0.

HTC Incredible
A version of the HTC Incredible designed to run China UnionPay's NFC payments service via a microSD-based NFC add-on was announced in August 2011.

HTC One X
The HTC One X is the new flagship handset for the Taiwanese phone giant, featuring a 4.7-inch 1280 by 720 display, quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.0 and NFC. The One X — previously known by the codename HTC Edge — will be available from April 2012.

HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G
The HTC Ruby, also known as the HTC Amaze 4G, is a high-end Android device and the first NFC phone from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

Huawei Sonic/Turkcell T20
The Huawei Sonic is the Chinese telecoms giant's first NFC handset, a sub-US$200 Android phone. The device, also known as the U8650NFC, is marketed in Turkey as the Turkcell T20.

Kuoziro FT701W NFC Tablet
The Kuoziro Frontier FT701W has a 7-inch touch screen, 1GHz dual core processor, runs Android 2.3 and is priced at ¥29,800 (US$371).

LG Optimus Elite
The LG Optimus Elite is a low-end smartphone with a 3.2-inch display, 800MHz processor and NFC. The Virgin Mobile USA version comes with Google Wallet.

LG Optimus L5
The LG Optimus L5 has a 4-inch screen, 5MP camera and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

LG Optimus L7
The LG Optimus L7 has a 4.3-inch screen, 5MP camera and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. 

LG Optimus LTE
The LG Optimus LTE, also known by the model number LG LU6200, is a high-end Android smartphone which boasts a 4.5-inch HD screen, LTE and NFC. 

LG Optimus Net
The LG Optimus Net is an Android smartphone that will come with NFC in some markets. 

LG Optimus Vu
The LG Optimus Vu's headline feature is a large 4:3 aspect ratio screen, and the high-end Android 2.3 smartphone is also rumoured to feature NFC. The device is sold as the LG Intuition in the US.

LG T530 Ego
The LG T530 is the Korean electronics company's first mass-market NFC handset, a touchscreen feature phone. It is available now in France as the LG Ego.

Mobiwire Cosyphone
The Mobiwire Cosyphone is an NFC handset supporting the single wire protocol (SWP). It is aimed at the over-50s and at the B2B market.

Motorola Droid Razr
The Motorola Droid Razr has not been advertised as an NFC handset, but a teardown has revealed it carries an NXP PN544 NFC controller chip. More

Samsung Galaxy Mini 2

Sky Vega Racer
The Sky Vega Racer from Pantech is a high-end dual-core smartphone that is only available in Korea. Billed at launch as the fastest Android handset yet, it is aimed at the same market segment as Samsung's Galaxy S II.

Sonim XP1301 Core NFC
The Sonim XP1301 Core NFC is an ultra-rugged handset designed for commercial use. The sub-£300 device was announced on 20 September 2011 and is available now.

Sony Xperia Ion
The Sony Xperia Ion, an LTE variant of the Xperia S, is exclusive to AT&T in the US and has a 4.6-inch HD screen.

Announced in March 2012, the Xperia Sola has a 'floating touch' screen that allows users to interact without needing to physically touch the screen.

The MaxiPRO5 is an Android 4.0 NFC smartphone offered by Turkish network operator Turkcell.

Turkcell T11/ZTE Racer II
The Turkcell T11 Maxiphone, also known as the ZTE Racer II, is an Android 2.3.4-based single wire protocol smartphone, manufactured by China's ZTE and priced at 389TL (US$213).

Xolo X900
Released in April 2012, the Xolo X900 is the first smartphone with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor to be launched in India.

ZTE Turkcell MaxiPLUS5
The Turkcell MaxiPLUS5 is an Android 4.0 NFC smartphone, made for the Turkish operator by Chinese manufacturer ZTE.

Others...
■Chinese phone manufacturer Hedy is supplying SWP-compliant NFC handsets for China Unicom's NFC roll out, using an NFC controller manufactured by Shanghai Fudan Microelectronics.
■Shanghai Simcom is also manufacturing NFC handsets using Shanghai Fudan components. The EVDO phones are marketed under the East Com brand name.
